To simplify this process, we are asking that you sign and return the accompanying Continuous Origin Affidavit. If all the livestock that you sell are of USA origin you will only need to sign this Continuous Origin affidavit once. We will keep the record on file and it will automatically declare the origin of all livestock that you sell until you revoke the affidavit or change it. If you should sell any Canadian or Mexican cattle, you will need to complete an additional affidavit for that consignment at the time of sale.

As you will notice, in order to eliminate some of the documents we have to maintain, we have combined the COOL and Meat and Bone Meal affidavit into one document for you to sign. Please complete the affidavit and send it back to the address listed above as soon as possible so we will have it on hand when you market cattle.

If you sell cattle under different names using the same address, please list the additional names on this affidavit. This will certify all names used to sell cattle. The law does allow the affidavit to be completed and signed by an individual other than the listed seller, but that individual must have first hand knowledge of the country of origin. For example, John Doe may sign his granddaughter’s affidavit, Amy Doe, if he takes care of the cattle or Jim Ricks may sign the affidavit for Ricks & Howard Partnership if Jim has the first hand knowledge of the cattle.
