| Receipts totaled 2742 head. The market was active and demand was good throughout the sale. Over 300 pair were offered with a large number being five years old or younger and ranging from $1200 to $1475 with one set of second calf Baldies selling for $1600. Pairs that were solid mouth and coming with a little less flesh sold from $1000 to $1200. Over 1030 bred cows were sold with a high percentage of the offering being five years old and younger. The fleshier and longbred cows sold from $1100 up to $1460. The young cows medium bred for late spring calving and the solid mouth and colored cows middle to longbred brought from $950 up to $1100. Approximately 425 bred heifers were sold with the longbred heifers going from $1000 to $1330 depending on flesh and size. The medium bred heifers and smaller frame heifers went from $850 up to $1050. About 670 open heifers were sold with the activity and demand strong. Most of the open heifers, depending on size and kind, sold from $750 to $900 with one set of 23 Black Gold Brangus heifers selling for $1025. The next Replacement Female Sale will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:00am in San Saba. |
