| The market was very strong and active as buyers were represented from all over Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Alabama and California to see 1822 head sell at the 6th Annual Best of the Best Replacement Female sale. The 350 plus pairs sold mostly from $1200 up to $1600 with a couple of sets of Tigerstripes bringing $1700 up to $1890 per pair. Approximately 300 bred cows were offered ranging from shortbred to longbred cows going for $975 up to $1360 with one group of longbred Angus selling for $1400 per head. Over 200 bred heifers were offered bringing in a range from $1000 up to $1350 with one set of Tigerstripes going for $1550 and a set of 10 longbred Maine/Angus Cross heifers selling for $1875 per head. The demand was extremely good on the 600 plus head of open heifers with many one raising sets of heifers being offered with several groups of the Premium Black Gold Brangus and Certified Black F-1's selling from $1050 up to $1350. The balance of the heifers weighing around 700 to 750 pounds sold from $800 up to $1050 and some of the lighter heifers were going from $650 to $800. The next Replacement Female Sale will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:00am in Mason, TX. |
