| Receipts totaled 2487 head with cattle being purchased to go throughout Texas along with New Mexico and Florida. Demand was good on the pairs with over 600 being offered with the better pairs ranging from $1100 up to $1470. Some of the pairs that were not as fleshy and the solid mouth ones sold from $950 to $1100. The younger and better bred cows that were middle to long bred ranged in price from $990 to $1340. The short bred and solid mouth cows and cows not carrying as much flesh sold from $800 to $1000. Over 500 bred heifers were offered with the bigger longer bred ones selling from $950 to $1170. The shorter bred and lighter weight heifers brought $800 to $975. The open heifers were selling mostly from $650 to $800 with one set of registered Brahmans bringing $1460. The next Replacement Female Sale will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10:00am in San Saba. |
