Receipts totaled 3882 head. The market was very active with a full house of buyers on hand from all over Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi. Over 900 pairs were offered with most of the pairs going from $1050 to $1440 with some of the young pairs carrying less flesh and some solid mouth ranging from $900-$1050. Approximately 1100 bred cows were offered with the better and young longbred cows bringing from $950 to $1220 with some of the Brahman cows going for $1225 to $1440. The winter and spring calving cows were bringing from $800 to $1025. About 750 bred heifers were sold with the bigger, longbred and front end ones going for $1000 to $1290. The spring and winter calving along with some fall calving heifers also were going from $800 to $1000. Right at 250 open heifers were sold with most ranging from $580 to $820 depending on size and kind with one set of young Brahmans going for $1040 per head. The next replacement female sale will be Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:00am in San Saba. |
