Receipts totaled 1717 head. The market was active with a full house of buyers from all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Most of the pairs sold in a range from $950 to $1250 with one set of choice Brangus going for $1325. The pairs that were not carrying as much flesh and the solid mouth ones brought from $850 up to $1000. The better bred cows that were medium to longbred sold from $875 up to $1175 depending on kind, flesh and quality. Bred cows that were carrying less condition, solid mouth ones and short breds brought from $600 to $870. As compared to the last special sale in December, the bred heifers were selling about steady to higher with the longer bred and better heifers going from $800 up to $1050 with one consignment of true F-1 Tigerstripes bringing $1250 to $1500. The better quality open heifers were in good demand and sold from $550 to $750 depending on size and kind with one set of 25 open Premium Black Gold Brangus selling for $925. The next replacement female sale will be on Saturday, February 28, 2009. |
