Receipts totaled 4455 head. The market was active with buyers represented from Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana and all across Texas. Over 1400 pairs were offered with the younger and fleshier pairs ranging from $1100-$1400 and the pairs carrying less flesh or solid mouth sold from $900 up to $1150. Over 500 bred cows were sold with good demand on the fall calving kind with most selling in the range of $875 to $1120. A choice offering of bred heifers were on hand with approximately 900 head offered with most to calve this fall ranging in price from $875-$1200 with one set of 28 True F-1 Tigerstripes bringing $1300. Approximately 260 open heifers sold bringing from $600-$900 depending on size and kind. The next replacement female sale will be Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00am in San Saba. |
