Receipts totaled 3632. A large crowd of buyers were on hand from all across Texas along with some from Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Florida. The demand was strong on the 700 plus pairs that were offered with the better younger pairs that were either 3 in 1’s or selling as open sold from $1200 up to $1650 with one set of 14 Registered Angus 3 in 1 pairs bringing $1810. A few of the other pairs sold from $1000 up to $1200. With over 800 bred cows being offered, the demand and activity on the young fall calving cows was very strong selling from $1100 up to $1480 with one set of 35 fall calving four year old Angus cows bringing $1510. The more solid mouth and shorter bred cows to calve in the winter and spring brought from $800 up to $1100. More than 1100 bred heifers were sold with the bigger, longbred heifers bringing from $1100 up to $1400 with one set of 27 longbred True F-1’s selling for $1490. The balance of the other bred heifers ranged mostly from $850 to $1050 depending on size and months bred. Around 300 open heifers were sold with most bringing from $650 up to $875 depending on size, flesh and kind. One set of 15 fancy open Brahman heifers brought $1500. The next Replacement Female sale will be the Deep Creek True F-1 sale on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in San Saba. The next Saturday Female sale will be September 25, 2010 in San Saba.
