Receipts totaled 2961.
The demand
and activity was good with buyers on hand from
Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana
and Colorado. Over 1100 pairs sold with
the young, fleshier pairs bringing from $1200 to
$1475. Also, several 3 in 1 pairs were
offered that were bred back to calve this fall
that brought from $1500 up to $1890 a pair.
Approximately 125 bred cows were offered with
most being fall or winter calving and sold from
$850 to $1060 with one set of 3 year old
Brahmans selling for $1200. Over 400 bred
heifers were sold with most bred for fall and
winter calving and ranged from $850 to $1050.
A choice offering of over 250 open heifers were
on hand and sold from $700 up to $890 depending
on size.
