| Receipts totaled 2589. Buyers from all across Texas along with some from Oklahoma, Missouri and Florida were on hand to bid on the replacement females with the market being active and demand strong on all classes except the open heifers which sold lower as compared to the March Female sale with the exception of 64 head of Open Hereford heifers which sold for $1150. Most of the pairs sold from $1300 to $1800 with some 3 in 1's bringing $1800 to $1900 a pair. The better bred cows sold from $1000 up to $1575 with one set of Registered Angus cows selling for $1610. Some of the smaller and shorter bred cows brought from $850 to $1100. The better bred heifers that were medium bred to longbred were bringing from $1050 up to $1510. The short bred heifers and mixed colored heifers sold from $850 to $1100. The open heifers that were weighing 700 to 800 pounds sold from $750 to $880. The lighter weight heifers sold mostly from $600 to $750. The next Replacement Female Sale will be held Saturday,May 7, 2005 in San Saba. |
