| Receipts totaled 1974. The market was very active with the recent rains that fell over Texas and other states. Buyers came from all over Texas along with Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. A large number of pairs were offered with the younger, fleshier pairs bringing from $1100 up to $1660. The pairs that were not as fleshy and ones that were solid mouth sold from $950 to $1150. Bred cows sold in strong demand with shortbred to longbred cows bringing from $800 up to $1120. A very limited offering of bred heifers were sold with most selling from $900 up to $1020. Open heifers were very active with the heifers ready to breed bringing from $730 up to $905 with one set of 9 open Brahmans bringing $1290. The next Replacement Female sale will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 in Mason. |
