| Receipts totaled 2619. A welcomed rainy spell across a wide area of Texas that put three to five inches of rainfall into many gauges certainly stimulated the market on some drought stricken cattle that were forced to sell because of lack of rainfall over the past several years. A complete dispersal along with several herd reductions brought this sale into being that saw some relatively strong prices paid on the younger, better quality replacement females. Most cattle offered were bred cows or heifers that will calve after the first of the year or into spring. Some longbred cows and heifers were offered with very few pairs. Topping the sale was a group of solid mouth, Tiger Stripe pairs. Next Special Replacement Female sale is Saturday, Dec. 1st, 2001 in San Saba. | ||
